OXALIPLATIN is an enantiomerically pure platinum-based antineoplastic agent (inhibition of cell proliferation) used in cancer chemotherapy.
THERAPEUTIC INDICATION: ONCOLOGY
OXALIPLATIN is used for the treatment of colorectal cancer, typically along with Folinic acid and 5-fluorouracil in a combination known as FOLFOX. It has been compared to other Pt- compounds used for advanced cancers, such as Cisplatin and Carboplatin. A combination with the mono-clonal antibody Bevacizumab increases its activity.
