Vertellus is an independent company created by an MBO of the Workington-based Specialties business from Dow in 2002 and an acquisition of the Halebank Fine Chemicals business from Great Lakes in late 2003.
The Workington facility (formerly PENTAGON) manufactures materials for the paper, fuel, lube, oilfield, metal working, explosive, and pharmaceutical markets. Core competencies include anhydride & derivative products.
