SNAP-8 is a mimic of the N-terminal end of SNAP-25 which competes with SNAP-25 for a position in the SNARE complex, thereby modulating its formation and preventing the formation of lines and wrinkles. SNAP-8, which connects two amino acids to the sequence of acetyl-hexapeptide-8, is an upgraded version of hexapeptide. A cosmetic formulation acts as an anti-wrinkle ingredient used in anti-aging products.
