Diclofenac potassium is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) taken to reduce inflammation and as an analgesic reducing pain in certain conditions. It is a competitive inhibitor of cyclooxygenase (COX) that suppresses the production of prostaglandins. Diclofenac potassium induces apoptosis of neural stem cells (NSCs) via the activation of the caspase cascade.
