Thiamet G is a potent and selective O-GlcNAcase (OGA) inhibitor with Ki of 21 nM, while exhibiting 37000-fold selectivity over human lysosomal-hexosaminidase. Inhibition of OGA by Thiamet G reduced tau pathology in the brain and total tau in the CSF of rTg4510 mice.
