Cosmate®PGA,Sodium Polyglutamate,Gamma Poly-glutamic acid (γ -PGA) is a natural occurring, multi-functional, and biodegradable biopolymer. It is produced through fermentation by Bacillus subtilis using glutamic acid. PGA is consists of glutamic acid monomers crosslinked between α -amino and γ -carboxyl groups. It is water-soluble, edible and non-toxictowards human, and is environment friendly. It has broad applications in the fields of medicine, food, cosmetics, and water treatment.

Sodium polyglutamate is a zwitterionic surfactant with excellent film formation, lubrication, dispersion, penetration and performance. Sodium polyglutamate is used as an emulsifier and dispersant in cosmetics.

Origin:
Natto is made from soybean fermentation and the main ingredient of its viscous colloid is γ-PGA.
γ–PGA is called NATTO GUM in international cosmetics pharmacopoeia. It is also called plant collagen or collagen vegetal in Europe and Japan. In China, we call it Natto gel, polyglutamic acid or sodium polyglutamate.
