Description:
This active molecular is a potent cephalosporin antibiotic with a catechol moiety on the 3-position side chain under the development of Shionogi. Cefiderocol exhibits potent activity against the non-fermenting Gram-negative bacteria in vitro including Acinetobacter baumannii, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Stenotrophomonas maltophilia. Now Cefiderocol is in clinical Phase III for treatment of severe infections caused by Carbapenem-resistant Gram-negative pathogens.
