Description:
BAM 15 is a novel mitochondrial protonophore uncoupler that uncouples oxidative phosphorylation in L6 myoblast mitochondria in vitro (EC50 = 270 nM). BAM 15 cannot depolarize the plasma membrane, and protects mice from acute renal ischemic-reperfusion injury. BAM 15 has the potential to treat obesity, Parkinson's disease, and aging.
