Description:
Berberine hydrochloride is an isoqinoline alkaloid and acts as a COX-2 inhibitor that exhibits chemopreventive activity against colon tumor formation. Study in humans and hamsters shows that berberine reduces total cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol, and triglycerides.
