Isoastragaloside IV is a chemical reference substance isolated from Astragalus membranaceus. Astragaloside is the major active constituent of Astragalus membranaceus, and in vitro studies have demonstrated that Astragaloside IV is a strong scavenger for superoxide radicals (IC50 < 0:023 mg/ml) and hydroxyl radicals (IC50 < 0:053 mg/ml).
