Trandolapril is an angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor. It has a longer biological half-life and a high degree of lipophilicity than others. It is used to treat high blood pressure. It acts by competitive inhibition of ACE, which is a key enzyme in the renin-angiotensin system and plays an important role in regulating blood pressure. lt inhibits atherosclerosis1 and decreases the occurrence of atrial fibrillation2.
