Description:
Pinocembrin chalcone is extracted from the rhizomes of Boesenbergia pandurata. It inhibits tyrosinase activity. It also inhibits the first step of enzymatic activation of heterocyclic amines and displays antimutagenic effect. It has antimicrobial activity against the antibiotic susceptible NG strain WHO V. It also shows activity against Candida albicans with a minimal inhibitory concentration value of 100 microg/mL.
