Chemical Properties:A substantially colorless viscous liquid, at room temperature lower coagulated into solid. Aroma is light, slightly sweet taste. Boiling point 300 ℃, melting point 24 ~ 26 ℃. Was dissolved in ethanol, most of the non-volatile oils and volatile oils, slightly soluble in propylene glycol, insoluble in glycerin, insoluble in water.
Natural products contained in ylang ylang oil, flowers like carnations.

Usage:
1. mainly used for the preparation of apricot, peach, banana, raspberry flavor.
2. As a spice, especially nitro solvent musk, artificial musk and floral fragrance fixative. Antiseptic.
3. often as floral and non-floral flavor co-solvents and fixatives good use. Apply carnation, ylang ylang, jasmine, wallflowers, lily of the valley, lilac, tuberose, flowers and other flavors type. It can also be a very small amount for apricots, peaches, plums, bananas, pears and other flavors.

Brief manufactured process:

Salicylic acid and benzyl alcohol derived reaction. Sodium salicylate may also be obtained by reaction with benzyl chloride. Sodium salicylate and benzyl chloride in a slight excess in the mixture, a small amount of diethylamine was added, the reaction was heated to 130-140 ℃ 17H, washed with water and the reaction was cooled, excess benzyl chloride was removed by steam distillation, the remaining oil was subjected to vacuum distillation, collecting 170-175 ℃ (0.93kPa) fraction. Yield 85%.
