GLP-1 (7-37) is an insulinotropic peptide generated from the precursor peptide GLP-1 (1-37). It is a potent stimulator of insulin secretion at concentrations as low as 5 X 10(-11) M and has no effect on insulin secretion even at concentrations as high as 5 X 10(-7) M. It participates in the physiological regulation of insulin secretion.
