The company is located in Kazincbarcika, North Hungary. The production facility is situated within the site of BorsodChem which beside its own production plants accommodates several independent companies.

Framochem Kft. was founded in 1993 as a joint venture between the French Groupe SNPE (60%) and Hungarian BorsodChem Zrt (40%). SNPE bought the share of BorsodChem in 2000, becoming the sole owner. Ownership of Framochem was transferred to Isochem SAS, the former fine chemicals branch of SNPE in 2002.

The company currently employs 112 persons.
