| (1 April, 2014) – IMCD Group B.V. is delighted to announce that effective 1st April 2014, Makeni Chemicals will be renamed IMCD Brasil. Since acquiring Makeni Chemicals in September 2013, the business has been fully integrated into the IMCD Group. IMCD Brasil is a leading speciality chemical distributor in the region, partnering with world class suppliers and covering a wide range of market sectors including coatings, construction, adhesives, plastics, personal care and nutrition. Founded in 1981 and headquartered in São Paulo, IMCD Brasil (formerly Makeni) has sales revenue of BRL 200 M and employs more than 100 staff. The company has sales representative offices throughout Brasil, one quality control laboratory, two application laboratories (one for coatings and one for nutrition) and a main warehouse facility located in Diadema with both bulk and liquid storage capacity. Marking the Group’s first entry into the Latin American market, this acquisition has been a significant step in realising its strategy to expand into one of the leading economies in the world.
